How Mauritians enjoy the 42nd independence Day of Mauritius?

Tomorrow is the 42nd Independence Day of Mauritius and I can’t help but think that since this country has gained its freedom, it has achieved great strides. I am, as always, proud to be a Mauritian. To be honest, around my house you would not always see the Mauritius flag. I think it’s like that for many around the island. But tomorrow is the day to hang that huge flag on the roof of my house and let it float with pride by the mere power of the wind. I am no great patriot as Americans around whose dwelling place you would always be bound to notice the famous American flag, their very emblem. Hats off, these people really have a sense of patriotism.

The Independence Day couldn’t have come on a better day. Tomorrow is Friday and we get a public holiday in style. So, you would expect many people around the whole of Mauritius to go to the seaside and have a nice time with their families and relatives. Others might prefer to stay in during the day but stay strictly out at night. That’s because pubs, bars, discotheques and restaurants would all be opening their welcoming arms towards all. So, wouldn’t it be nice to just follow what your instinct tells you and have an unforgettable Independence Day?

As for me, I am planning to stay at home and enjoy the tranquility and peace of being off from work. I am planning to have a great night’s dinner with my family. Maybe I’ll be giving out a helping hand to prepare food. Speaking about that, I need to dig out a mouthwatering recipe and make some ‘out of ordinary’ culinary creation for tomorrow night. I just think it would be great. What about you?
